I grew up in the Francis Howell School District and am proud to have served the community for the past nine years. I graduated from Francis Howell North in 1992 and went to Mizzou majoring in biology. During my time in Columbia I was privileged to portray the beloved "Truman the Tiger" for two and a half years. What incredible fun that was!

Midway through my sophomore year I had a HUGE change of heart and moved to the college of Education. I married my wife in May of 1996 and graduated in December of the same year. Leaving college in the middle of a school year could have been a tough time to find a teaching job, but instead I was blessed with a position at my old high school, FHN. I thoroughly enjoyed nine wonderful years teaching physical science, biology, genetics, human anatomy & physiology, as well as video production at the high school level.

In 2004 I decided to shake things up a bit and move to the middle school level. I have always felt that a good foundation in the concepts of science is more important than any "science facts" that could be learned. Elementary school science can often be hit and miss depending on the district and school, so I am excited to provide the ground level for many of my students' science learning. This year is my fifth year at and I couldn't be happier.

I am the father of two wonderful kids. Joel (3 ) and Jamie (1)
I have recently earned my masters in degree in Digitial Media Production from Lindenwood University. My "free time" is used building a small video production business. I have already produced a 40 minute science video called Project: Epiphany and look forward to a myriad of other projects. I have done many video slideshows for banquets and parties as well as video wedding invitations.

Science is awesome! I hope that I am able to show my passion for the creation we see around us. My goal is not to make an army of scientists, but to make sure everyone has a greater appreciation for the way things work. I want my students to see the world and not wonder why...because they know why and HOW!

I enjoy playing piano and tennis in my free time. Sitting down to watch an episode of Star Wars wouldn't be bad either.
